2. COUNCIL ELECTIONS: WHO WILL SUPPORT PARK LANDS?

A huge field of candidates has nominated for election to the City Council, including the surprising last-minute nomination of former Lord Mayor Jane Lomax Smith.

When nominations closed on Tuesday 6 September, there were 45 candidates vying for the 12 positions on Council, to govern what happens in your Park Lands over the next four years.

3. MEET OUR ART PRIZE CHAIR

A new face is at the helm of our biennial Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize.

Nataliya Sard is a senior financial planner, former professional dancer, and a passionate advocate for the arts. APA’s Carla Caruso chatted to Nataliya about the entries coming in now, for the 2023 Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize, her background, and plenty more.

4. DOGS DAY OUT

The Adelaide Park Lands Association has four Park Lands strategies:

Explore, Inspire, Protect and Restore.

But we are only as strong as our members. To be effective at these strategies, we need YOUR support.

You are reading the non-members version of this newsletter - which means you are not (yet) a member.

If you were to become an APA member, you would then be able to book for any of our Guided Walks for free, and you would also unlock 15% discounts to all the merch in the APA Shop.

6. 2023 APA WALL CALENDAR

7. JILL OF ALL TRADES

Jill Woodlands spends most of her working life in your Adelaide Park Lands. She’s a horticulturalist, managing the Diggers Garden Shop at the Adelaide Botanic Garden; and a co-founder of the annual Nature Festival.

8. HOW TO SEE A PARK, WHILE DODGING GOLF BALLS

Until now, you might have been reluctant to visit one of the largest Parks within your Adelaide Park Lands, for fear of disrupting golfers or worse, getting hit by a golf ball!

However, we've set out a Trail Guide that lets you traverse in peace and safety through Possum Park / Pirltawardli (Park 1). We hope you'll explore one day soon.
