Faced with a Government threat to rob future generations of 70 hectares of Park Lands, the message from the Town Hall is, at best, confusing.

4. MONITORING BIODIVERSITY

Two new fauna species for SA have been uncovered in the Adelaide Park Lands.

However, a few others are on the decline, according to a biodiversity report presented to the Adelaide Park Lands Authority.

5. WHAT'S ON IN OCTOBER

The month of October 2021 is shaping as the peak month of the year for activities in your Open Green Public Adelaide Park Lands

Apart from the 'Save Helen Mayo Park Picnic Rally' (see above) another highlight is our first-ever Park Lands loop event: a walk or a cycle or a run on this loop course (below) from 9am this Sunday 3 October.

But it's not just APA. There are lots of other events coming up this month, through (among others):

the Nature Festival,
the OzAsia festival,
FOMO Fridays in the City, and
two great family festivals in Rundle Park and Rymill Park at the end of October.

6. PARK TCE COMMUNITY GARDEN "ON HOLD"

Activity at this community garden has been put ‘on hold’ after struggles with damage, theft, and safety.

Now, its volunteers are calling on the Adelaide City Council for help.

One of the currently-proposed attacks on your Adelaide Park Lands is the Government's plan to put a new Women's and Children's hospital on this, the last Open Green Public Park Lands space on the North Terrace side of Park 27.

Now, doubts have been raised about whether this site in your Park Lands is actually suitable for the purpose.
