1. RALLY TO SAVE MIRNU WIRRA

A public rally on Saturday 1 April will aim to save a rare trove of restored native bushland, from being bulldozed for a “semi-industrial complex” in your Park Lands.

Hundreds of native species, lovingly restored over the past 15 years are set to be wiped out by a compound almost twice the size of the Adelaide Oval stadium, unless the Government changes course. But you can intervene.

We are a grassroots community organisation. We Explore, Inspire, Protect, and Restore.

But we are only as strong as our Members and our Volunteers.

You are receiving the non-members version of this newsletter which means you're not (yet) a Member of our team.

Will you help us to spread the word, to encourage others (especially the State Government!) to Love Your Park Lands ?

There are two ways to do that: as a Member, or as a Volunteer (or both!)

If you were to become an APA member, you would then be able to book for any of our Guided Walks for free, and you would also unlock 15% discounts to all the merch in the APA Shop.

More importantly, your membership fee (as low as $15 per year for a single concession) would be tangible support for our Park Lands strategies:

8. GOING BATTY

Tens of thousands of flying foxes were outnumbered in March month by people attending WOMADelaide, but the bats are always constitute a huge crowd in Botanic Park.

Fortunately there is a team of about 40 volunteers who look after, rescue or foster sick, injured or orphaned flying foxes and microbats around Adelaide.
