by Shane Sody Earlier this year, our members and supporters told us, in a survey, that they wanted more opportunities for hands-on roles within your Adelaide Park Lands. We’ve heard the message - and created a new volunteer role, of “Park Guardian”. Come to an introductory information session on Monday, 9 December.

Apparently your Park Lands will be subject to even more disruption and damage next November, with yet another motor racing event being planned by the State Government. Your Park Lands are hit annually by fencing, noise and damaging carbon emissions from (a) V8 Super cars, and (b) Sprint cars in November and (c) the Motor Sport festival in March.
Now, the Government is reportedly backing yet another motor sport event that would go off bitumen and tear up swathes of your Open Green Public Park Lands. |

You are reading the non-members version of this newsletter - which means you are not (yet) a member. If you were to become an APA member, you would then be able to book for any of our Guided Walks for free, and you would also unlock 15% discounts to all the merch in the APA Shop. More importantly, your membership fee (as low as $20 per year for a single concession) would be tangible support for our Park Lands strategies: Explore, Inspire, Protect and Restore. Membership is not the only way you can help. Another simple option is to donate. Even better, join our volunteer team. Choose from the various potential roles we've described on our volunteer page, here. |

by Shane Sody The Adelaide City Council has backed the State Government’s gift to private developer, Walker Corporation of a second massive new office tower on the former Festival Plaza in your Park 26 - even while arguing that it will undermine a bid for World Heritage. |
