In announcing the State Government's latest proposed attack on Adelaide's heritage, Premier Peter Malinauskas claims that you (and State MPs) must make a binary choice. He’s urging yes to a hospital, and NO to your heritage.

But he’s overlooked the best option: having both.

2. FOI PROBE ON AQUATIC CENTRE BUNGLE

Adelaide Lord Mayoral candidate Rex Patrick has stepped in to expose the bungled State Government process that now threatens dozens of mature trees in your Adelaide Park Lands.

Mr Patrick’s FOI request will reveal whether the State Government has given any consideration to the overwhelming public feedback to support Park Lands and support a brownfield site for a new Aquatic Centre.

4. COUNCIL CANDIDATES MAKE THEIR PITCH

21 election candidates offered themselves up for public scrutiny last Wednesday evening, as the Adelaide Park Lands Association hosted a Candidates Forum at the North Adelaide Community Centre.

Lord Mayoral front-runners Jane Lomax-Smith, Rex Patrick, and incumbent Sandy Verschoor (among others) were challenged on what they would do to protect and advance your Adelaide Park Lands.

But we are only as strong as our members. To be effective at these strategies, we need YOUR support.

6. FESTIVAL PLAZA: "AN OUTRAGE THAT BEGGARS BELIEF"

The privatisation of the former Festival Plaza, within Tarntanya Wama (Park 26) is set to become even more obscene.

Greens MLC Robert Simms has accused the Labor and Liberal parties of being "in the pocket of the development class".

He's launched a scathing critique of Park Lands dealings between successive State Governments and billionaire property developer Lang Walker.

A team of postgraduate students has been busy stencilling our paths with short poems, penned by talented, local writers. Like magic, the poetry becomes visible only when wet.
