1. "CORRIDOR IN THE SKY" FOR BETTER HOSPITAL

The Adelaide Park Lands Association has backed calls by medical staff for the State Government to review the proposed new Women's and Children's Hospital site on Park Lands.

The proposed new WCH would obliterate a triangular, beautifully landscaped part of the Park Lands off Port Road, but there are better options available as other cities have already demonstrated.

3. UNPAVING PARADISE - RE-GREENING BENEFIT SHOW

For one night only (Sat 4 June) the Adelaide Park Lands Association presents the "UnPaving Paradise" re-greening benefit show, with a dinner option.

A comedy-cabaret-rock show with six performers - raising funds for our re-greening initiative in Bonython Park / Tulya Wardli.

4. LAST DAYS TO ENTER UNPAVING PARADISE DESIGN COMP

Entries for our "UnPaving Paradise" poster design competition will be closing on Friday 13 May.

We've been encouraged by some innovative and imaginative ideas that could be used for several potential re-greening sites. What can you envisage, to improve what's now just a patch of bitumen?

9. NEW FACES ON OUR GOVERNING COMMITTEE

Our Annual General Meeting on Sunday 24 April welcomed two new members to our managing Committee: Jacqui Hunter (left), and Helen Hutton.

With interest in the Adelaide Park Lands increasing markedly over the past 12 months, the AGM voted to maintain a four-year freeze on membership fees, to encourage even stronger growth in support.

11. PARK LANDS VOLUNTEER REPORTER NEEDED

We're looking for help in compiling this regular newsletter. Can you write an occasional brief engaging story?

We would appreciate an offer of one story per month, on a regular basis. For example:

compiling the monthly list of "What's On"; OR.
a regular once-per-month article focusing on a different species of Park Lands tree or other plant, each time; OR
if you have children, then perhaps take them with you to help you compare each of the ten different playgrounds within your Park Lands, evaluating one playground per month for ten months, including a child's point of view.
