1. PROTECTORS OR WRECKERS? ACT NOW

The Adelaide City Council is about to decide whether to protect, or allow an attack on this massive three hectare site within your Adelaide Park Lands.

Sending a few emails before next Tuesday is your chance to save dozens of trees, and get a different, better location for a proposed $135 million megalith aquatic and commercial centre.

The State Government for its part, professes to support the Matildas, while planning to destroy these two soccer pitches.

2. BOTANIC CREEK RESTORATION

The City of Adelaide has won a grant of $198,000 from the State Government’s “Green Adelaide” agency to restore Botanic Creek in your eastern Park Lands.

The three-year upgrade will include a focus on biodiversity, creating new habitat and natural spaces, while acknowledging Kaurna cultural connections.

4. SPOTLIGHT ON LADY WITH VAN

The van brings together two of Joanne’s loves: coffee and art – quite often at one of the most popular parts of your Adelaide Park Lands.

We are a grassroots community organisation. We Explore, Inspire, Protect, and Restore.

But we are only as strong as our Members and our Volunteers.

You are receiving the non-members version of this newsletter which means you're not (yet) a Member of our team.

Will you help us? There are two ways to do that: as a Member, or as a Volunteer (or both!)

6. BARRACKS? NOT AGAIN

A renewed push to have new Police barracks built on your Park Lands does not have State Government backing.

Responding to a proposal from the Police Association, Treasurer Stephen Mullighan has said there are NO Park Lands sites under consideration for new Police barracks.
